October 7, 1975: New challenge for artist

Hope you were able to see artist Joy Williams doing children’s portraits last week at the Inspirations Gallery in Wyndham St.

Ms Williams, who is a well-known landscape artist, was busy with her pastels, making a perfect likeness on paper of the little girl standing next to her.

Although she prefers doing landscapes, Ms Williams said children were good to draw because they had such definite expressions.

She is busy preparing 20 landscapes for an exhibition at the Moongana Galleries, Cobram, and Yarrawonga.

Her pastels of children are nearly life size and are about $75 framed.
