However, without the constant assistance from passionate and dedicated volunteers, none of it would be possible.
“Without volunteers and grants, there would be limited support services, no events, probably no community house,” Tatura Community House co-manager Tom Boocock said.
“Funding is very little and only enough to support one employee for 30 hours of work per week — it’s not enough.
“We rely on the magnificent work from volunteers and are extremely thankful to them for giving up their time.”
Right now, Tatura Community House is on the search for new volunteers to step into their programs, have some fun, meet new people, and lend a helping hand in the community.
Jacob Dedman has been volunteering for two years since he was 16 years old, and said he enjoyed the social aspect of volunteering alongside meeting new people.
“I help make hot drinks for the coffee hub that’s held as a social catch up for anyone in the community once a week,” Jacob said.
“My Mum and I do it together and I also help with event filming and photography too.
“It’s a rewarding feeling helping your community and I have been given some amazing opportunities along the way.”
