Established in 2018 by parents Kate and Tick Everett, Dolly’s Dream is an organisation created in memory of their daughter, Amy Jayne ‘Dolly’ Everett, who tragically took her own life after experiencing prolonged bullying and cyberbullying.
Do It For Dolly Day is held annually every May.
Dedicated to raising awareness, supporters across Australia came together to honour Dolly by wearing her favourite colour and participating in fundraising activities to support the anti-bullying work of Dolly’s Dream.
The Greater Shepparton community has enthusiastically joined the cause, with one local business going the extra mile.

Georgia Steele, owner of local business The Boujee Bogan, took the initiative by organising a raffle fundraiser to honour Dolly Everett’s memory.
With 365 tickets sold, and a total of $1354.56 raised, the raffle was a success.
“I started just on my own last year, and then this is my first year doing (the raffle) through my small business; we’ve just opened in February,” Ms Steele said.
“It’s something I was introduced to (Do It For Dolly Day) through school, and a few of the local football clubs and stuff like that have put it on the board a few times.
“It’s just something that really resonates close to home for me.
“I know of people who have been bullied, cyberbullying ... I’ve had it done personally, like it’s not a great place to be in.
“I just want to try and raise awareness and support for these people that might not be comfortable to speak out, like they don’t have a safe place to go.”
Alongside her work as a nurse, Ms Steele is determined to grow her business and continue supporting Dolly’s Dream.
“I would love to keep doing this every year,” she said.
“It’s something that, as I said, it resonates, I think close to home, so I’ll forever support this organisation.
“As long as I have the capacity to do it, I would love to keep raising awareness.”
