Families in Shepparton are in for a treat these school holidays as Riverlinks presents the magical world of Whalebone — an experience set to kindle the imaginations of young and old alike.
Crafted by Jens Altheimer, the family-friendly production merges the alluring realms of beguiling storytelling, radiant animations and light-hearted humour, promising an unforgettable escapade for attendees.
The tale unfolds in ‘The Depository’ where the audience meets the last whimsical worker undertaking a grand endeavour — safeguarding the mesmerising stories hidden within abandoned objects from a rogue AI intent on erasing their essence.
Audiences will witness a fascinating exploration of the collision between the physical and virtual worlds, orchestrated through mesmerising video and computer animations.
Mr Altheimer brings to life a vision filled with peculiar contraptions, robotics, ungainly inventions and levitating objects.
He weaves a rich tapestry that celebrates the realm of imagination and the art of storytelling.
“We’re excited to offer a show that not only entertains but also sparks imagination,” Riverlinks acting manager Hannah Shelton said.
“Whalebone is funny, intriguing, and full of action, making it a perfect choice for families seeking an energising experience these school holidays.”
A post-performance workshop will take place from noon to 1pm at Riverlinks Eastbank in Shepparton.
Open to all aged eight and over, the session offers an unparalleled interactive experience, extending the magic beyond the stage.
The show is on at Riverlinks Eastbank on Tuesday, September 26, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Tickets can be purchased in person, online or by contacting the Riverlinks box office at 5832 9511.
