Echuca Regional Health has recognised seven staff members for 40 years of service to the health service.

Donna Robertson, Carmel Beck, Helen Strawford, Meran Hyden, Juliet Larcombe, Janine Davie and Janine Murnane have contributed a total of 280 years between them to Echuca hospital.

During four decades, the group has seen remarkable changes, from the name Echuca District Hospital, to the opening of the new hospital building, Glanville Village and the Hopwood Centre.

They’ve seen the hospital grow from 200 staff to 950, the introduction of accreditation standards and the phasing out of nurse training in-hospital.

Dental manager Ms Beck has worked in dental services since their establishment.

“One of my big highlights is we came with the fountain; in the 100th year of Echuca Regional Health the fountain was presented to the hospital,” she said.

“It’s a very significant part of ERH and I was always proud that was the moment we joined.”

ERH interim chief executive Robyn Lindsay said the hospital was grateful for the contribution of each staff member during the 40 years.

“It’s also the leadership they have shown in supporting, teaching and mentoring others,” she said.

“They really are the backbone of the organisation.”
