NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian confirmed the news on Monday, but warned against travelling to hotspots in Melbourne.
“The border between New South Wales and Victoria will continue to stay open,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“However, as is consistent with the health advice from Victoria and New South Wales, nobody from New South Wales should be travelling to the hotspots at this time.
“And people should consider whether they should travel to Melbourne at this point in time.”
Victoria recorded 20 new coronavirus cases on overnight Tuesday, seven of which are linked to known outbreaks.
A man in his 80s from Victoria also died from coronavirus in hospital.
No cases were recorded in Moira Shire or in Berrigan, with both local government areas still with no active cases.
