Fiorentina have beaten Serie A rivals Bologna 5-4 on penalties to advance to the Coppa Italia semi-finals after their last-eight clash finished goalless after extra time.
Bologna defender Stefan Posch fired his side's fifth spot-kick over the bar before Fiorentina midfielder Maxime Lopez converted to make last year's finalists the first team through to the last four.
Lazio host Roma in a capital-city derby clash, while AC Milan take on Atalanta in other quarter-finals on Wednesday.
The draw will be rounded out on Thursday when 14-time Coppa Italia winners Juventus play last season's Serie B champions Frosinone at home.
