After a week of being accused of mind games by NSW, Maroons coach Billy Slater confirmed Grant would start in the No.9 jersey at Perth's Optus Stadium on Wednesday night as his team attempt to level the series.
Likewise, Trent Loiero and Kurt Capewell will start in the back row, meaning Pat Carrigan and Jeremiah Nanai will come off the bench as named.
There had been some thought that Queensland could switch to start Kurt Mann at hooker, taking the early grunt out of the game before Grant entered off the bench.
The Maroons have not won any of the four games that Grant has started in Origin, but have a 6-2 record when he comes off the bench.
NSW will also run out as named, with no late changes as they fight to wrap up the series in Perth.
