Wilton scored the final try in the Sharks' 18-16 NRL win over Parramatta on Saturday, but it was his attack on the legs of Moses which may draw the attention of the match review committee.
The Eels halfback was mid-air after kicking the ball in the second half when Wilton took his legs out.
Parramatta got a penalty to regain the lead but the back-rower wasn't sent to the sinbin and then popped up to score his try in the 79th minute.
"You know when you've done something wrong like that and hurt the team so to turn around and get the last play was a big moment for him," said Fitzgibbon.
"I would need to have another look at it. I thought he stuck to his legs pretty tightly and came down quite safely.Â
"I have seen that there have been a few let go so far (this season). I'm not sure where that one will come out."
The Sharks play St George Illawarra on Thursday and will have to assess winger Ronaldo Mulitalo after he failed a HIA after opening the scoring.
Cronulla also handed lock Cameron McInnes his club debut in a 25-minute cameo on his return from an ACL injury.
Parramatta coach Brad Arthur was non-committal over whether Wilton should have been disciplined further for the hit on Moses.
Arthur did reveal that Moses had been struggling with a cork in his quad and that was why goal-kicking duties were handed to Clint Gutherson.
"We got a penalty for it," he said.
"I'm not 100 per cent sure what the rule is but if it's a sin-binnable offence they'll put him in there."
