Keary returned to Roosters as Hynes firms for Origin I

Keary's release came as part of NRL rules around Origin camp, which require the 19th and 20th man in each squad to be available for club football before the match.

The Roosters five-eighth is expected to return to NSW camp at the start of next week ahead of Game I.

But his release comes as NSW continue to grow in confidence Hynes will be fit to overcome his calf injury and play in the series opener.

The 27-year-old was able to train with teammates on Thursday for the first time, in a welcome sign for the Blues given the call that had to be made on Keary.

Blues players were given Friday off with some taking to the golf course in Leura before they return to the paddock on Saturday.
