The Australian share market has overcome an early dip to notch its seventh straight session of gains.

The S&P/ASX200 rose 17.5 points, or 0.21 per cent, to 8,297.1, as the broader All Ordinaries ground 9.5 points higher, or 0.11 per cent, to 8,529.7.
Banks and IT stocks helped lift the bourse higher, while energy, materials and real estate stocks were heavy.
A steady unemployment rate of 4.1 per cent removed the last likely barrier to a Reserve Bank interest rate cut next week, although a spike in employment forced rate markets to soften their bets on 25 basis points of relief.
The Australian dollar briefly spiked after today's employment print, but returned to give up the gains to trade at 64.27 US cents, down from 64.74 US cents on Wednesday afternoon.
