The often-controversial annual event is returning to a full two-week program from June 8 after several COVID-19-hit years.
A record 38,000 tickets were snapped up on day one of sales, topping $3.1 million in box office revenue.
Festival organisers on Friday announced three sold-out shows would shift to the larger 2500-capacity venue at MAC2, enabling a second release of tickets.
Indie electronic music composer Trentemoller, NYX's electronic drone choir soundscape event DO.OMYOGA: Nada Sound Ceremony and audio-visual electronic music spectacular Laterne by Berlin Atonal are shifting.
The festival has added a performance of TRANCE by Berlin-based Chinese artist Tianzhuo Chen.
Over three days, Tinazhuo's cast of characters intend to push the limits of the body with a 12-hour performance ritual each day split into six two-hour chapters.
Space will be provided for the audience to participate.
European sound artists Zosia Hołubowska and Julia Giertz will merge sonic meditation, narration and audio essay in their performance of Community of Grieving.
"The exploration of darkness is key to our identity as a festival, but at the heart of Dark Mofo is powerful ritual, collectivity and transformation," art program curator and senior producer Dexter Rosengrave said.
"We're really excited by these new additions to the program because they elicit an individual response that communally exalts us all."
The festival will hold its traditional nude solstice swim on June 22.
It will open with The Gathering, featuring Indigenous artists, while punk-rock icons Black Flag will play the festival exclusively, their first Australian show in a decade.
