Crossing for the just the fourth time in his 82-game NRL career, Sorensen's 27th-minute try realistically sealed Sunday night's grand final for the Panthers, giving them an 18-0 lead against Parramatta they were never going to surrender.
At a loss for words to describe what is surely the best moment of his career, he said some video replays might be needed to truly appreciate his accomplishment.
But he was quick to credit his supserstar halfback Nathan Cleary, whose most delicate of grubber kicks allowed his rare four-pointer.
"Surreal ... unbelievable," Sorensen told AAP.
"We'll watch it back in the next few days and it'll probably sink in then.
"For now I'm just so happy for the boys that we pulled it all together.
"(Cleary) is the little master, that's exactly what he is.
"He's just so meticulous, doesn't stop working and just loves the game."
Sorensen boasts the perfect record at Penrith - two seasons, two premierships - but knows things don't just happen for football clubs without a mountain of hard work.
It's the third club he's been with, after stints with Cronulla and Canberra, and gratitude for his current employers could hardly have been higher.
"I feel extremely grateful, absolutely love wearing this jersey and love playing for this club," he said.
"They gave me an opportunity to play football here. So extremely grateful to Penrith at the moment.Â
"It's a unique and very special group, and I'm just extremely lucky and grateful to be a part of it.
"It's just the best thing, like extremely proud. Absolutely love Ive (Penrith coach Ivan Cleary), playing underneath him - it's just a dream come true."
