Cats delist five, still waiting on Selwood

GWS midfielder Tanner Bruhn and Collingwood forward Ollie Henry - both Geelong Falcons products - have been strongly linked with moves to the Cats.

A busy off-season looms for the premiers after Francis Evans, Nick Stevens, Paul Tsapatolis, Zane Williams and Narkle were all informed they won't be offered contracts for 2023.

Narkle featured in eight games this year, including three as an unused medical substitute.

It took his tally to 41 games over five seasons, including 16 during the 2021 home-and-away season before he was overlooked for the finals.

The 24-year-old did not feature after round 17 this year.

"We thank Quinton, Francis, Nick, Paul, and Zane for their efforts over their time at Geelong and wish them every success in their future endeavours," Cats football manager Simon Lloyd said.

"Each player has played their part in our recent success, and we thank them for their commitment and dedication to our football program.

"To pull on the hoops is an achievement in itself, and each of these young men should be incredibly proud to have represented the Geelong Football Club.

"We have witnessed Quinton, Francis, Nick, Paul, and Zane grow as players and people during their time at the club."

Selwood, who last Saturday became the first Geelong player to win a fourth premiership with the club, is weighing up his options.

The 34-year-old is in talks with the club and expected to make a call within days on whether he will extend his remarkable career into a 17th season.

Geelong have made no secret of their plans to rebuild on the run over the last decade with Chris Scott at the helm.

They are expected to again be active in pursuing players from rival clubs during the trade period.

Bruhn and Henry were both first-round draft picks in 2020 and have impressed during their first two AFL seasons.

Henry was on hand at last week's grand final as brother Jack Henry played a key role for the Cats in shutting down Swans superstar Lance Franklin.
