The Warriors have announced the 26-year-old, Super League's top try-scorer this season, is now committed to the club until the end of 2024 "with a further two years of options".
The Australian full-back or winger, signed from Parramatta Eels in 2019, had been linked with a move back to the NRL competition Down Under after making a big impact at Wigan.
He said himself last week: "I came here with ambitions to get back into the NRL, I feel like I've unfinished business there and I'm 27 next year – that's getting on as a player.
"But it's a lot to take in, a big decision and that's why I'm not rushing into it."
But today he said: "I'm very happy to get it sorted. It's exciting times ahead. Looking at the squad it's very exciting and I've really enjoyed my time here. Hopefully I get to make more memories over the next couple of years."
French missed most of the 2021 campaign due to injury but returned to form this year, scoring 31 tries in 24 games.
A Super League record seven of those tries came in one game against Hull while he also helped the club win the Challenge Cup.
"I'm very happy to get it sorted," said French of his new deal. "It's been a long process, but I've got an opportunity to stick around and hopefully win some more silverware along the way."
Wigan executive director Kris Radlinski said: "We allowed Bevan to come to the decision at his own pace but we felt it was the right thing to do.
"Bevan is a superstar of the sport. It is our intention over the next few years to grow the profile of Bevan and make him a household name in British sport."
