An exciting junior footy contest took place at Deakin Reserve on Sunday, as Shepparton Notre Gold clashed with Shepparton Notre Maroon in Goulburn Murray Junior League action.

Gold came away with an exhilarating 4.10 (34) to 4.7 (31) win.

An evenly-matched contest throughout, Gold would pull ahead in the final term, with the wayward Maroon unable to match Gold’s single-goal advantage.

Alex Whitlock booted two goals for Maroon, while Thomas Mellington was a key contributor for his side.

Ben O’Brien stole the plaudits for Gold.

News photographer Rechelle Zammit was at Deakin Reserve on Sunday to capture plenty of action.
