For judge Dianne Lee, she wanted to showcase the variety of different dog breeds out there.
“We just want to bring some of the dog world to the general public,” she said.
“There are so many rules and governance around the world banning dogs, it’s really important to show the public what we do.”
Normally held at Longwood Recreation Reserve, the club switched venues after it was deemed no longer suitable for dogs.
“This is the first time we’ve been at Wunghnu,” Euroa Kennel Club president David Griffiths said.
“Hopefully this is our new home.”
Sorted into seven categories, the dogs are judged on a variety of qualities, such as coat, stance and obedience, according to judge Adrian Jones.
“It’s all eliminations, and the last dog that is unbeaten at the show is the best in show,” he said.
The Euroa Kennel Club championship shows were opened on Sunday by independent candidate for Nicholls Rob Priestly.
