It will be fourth versus first when the Wombats play host to Tallygaroopna on Saturday in round three action.
The Wombats, sporting a fresh line-up, have collected wins over Girgarre (34-29) and Rushworth (26-22) from the opening games.
Lancaster coach Michelle Hill, who joined the coaching ranks on the eve of the season, said her charges were still understanding what combinations worked best.
“I’ve got a great bunch of girls and it’s been a lot of fun so far,” she said.
“We are still trying to figure out what our best combinations are out on the court.
“Our attacking end needs a bit of work. We had five goalers rotate through in our last game against Rushworth, so it’s just a case of figuring out what works best.”
This Saturday presents a fresh challenge for Lanky, with Tallygaroopna collecting 58-16 and 60-14 wins over Undera and Girgarre respectively.
Hill expects Tally, which finished atop the A-grade ladder last season, to be a fierce opponent this weekend.
“We see it as a really good test, no doubt it will be a challenge for us,” she said.
The Wombats mentor revealed ring defender Laura Thomson would miss the clash.
Thomson is recovering from a knee injury; however, Hill expects the defender to return “in a couple of weeks”.
Lancaster will call upon attacker Jadeja Reid and experienced duo Bec Squires and Zoe Hayes to lead from the front on Saturday.
Around the courts, Merrigum hits the road to take on Dookie United, while Undera faces Shepparton East and Nagambie plays host to Murchison-Toolamba in two Sunday fixtures.
Violet Town will be out to bounce back against Avenel, Girgarre welcomes Longwood and Rushworth is at home to Stanhope.
