The Tigers will welcome a SKOBS squad featuring top-line talents such as Pat Kerr, Tom Boyd, Josh Tynan and Tom Jok when the two sides face off at Moon Oval from 1:30pm.
While high-profile recruit Shaun Atley is unlikely to line-up for Rochester, supporters will have an opportunity to see how the senior squad is shaping up.
New and returning faces including Mitch Cricelli, Isaac Johnson, Doug Wren, Mitch Treacy and Jacob Atley look set to line up for the Tigers.
Organised through connections between SKOBS legend and coach Anthony Lynch and Tigers club champion Heath Aitken, the two highly touted clubs in their respective competitions will provide an entertaining first-up clash.
With just 18 days to the start of the Goulburn Valley League season, Rochester coach Steve Stroobants said he was looking forward to the opportunity to face such high-quality opposition.
“To play a club so highly regarded as St Kevin’s at Rochester is great for our club and local community,” Stroobants said.
Play kicks off at 11:30am in the reserves game to get the day under way before the senior kick-off at 1:30pm.
Rochester Tigerettes will also be in action on the netball courts for the Community Bank Rochester Netball Invitational, which kicks off at 9am at the Rochester courts.
• Rochester has been bolstered by the recommitment of Port Melbourne VFL star Chris Jansen in another pre-season boost.
Jansen managed two games for the Tigers last season when not on VFL duties, one a win against Tatura and the other as a member of the drawn thriller against Mooroopna.
Jansen picked up best-on-ground honours in both games, and his addition will be a boost to the Tigers as they eye a finals berth.
Rochester faces arch-rival Echuca at Moon Oval in round one of the Goulburn Valley League.
