South Public School P&C President Emma Dennison said the fundraising golf day on Sunday, May 26 will assist the committee in its plan to build a shelter over one of the school’s playground areas.
‘‘We are always looking for ways to improve the school and the environment our children are educated in. This event will hopefully raise funds to go towards the shelter and other school resources,’’ she said.
‘‘It is a great opportunity to have a social day out. It is a bit of fun and a chance to catch up with friends without serious competition.
‘‘I think it is an opportunity not to be missed as you get to have a great time while supporting and assisting your local school community.’’
Entry is $25 per person with individual and team registrations made at the Deniliquin Golf Club or by calling 5881333.
Registration includes a barbecue lunch, and raffle tickets will be available on the day and through South School families leading up to the event.
Local businesses and families are encouraged to donate raffle prizes and are asked to drop them in to the school office on Sloane St.
‘‘We welcome people to contribute to our event; it would be greatly appreciated. The event will make a great day and I hope to see more people get involved,’’ Mrs Dennison said.
