The committee received funding through Moira Shire Council’s grants program Small Towns Festive Funds. Management committee secretary Gail Grinter said they planned to use the grant to decorate the exterior of the hall and host a free dinner for attendees.
“We’re looking forward to being able to get together with the neighbours again and have a bit of a catch-up because things have been pretty quiet over the last couple of years,” Ms Grinter said.
"Present and past residents of Kaarimba and surrounding districts, their friends and families are all invited.“

The committee will set up some games and kids’ activities, maybe even a piñata.
“We tried to get a jumping castle or something for the children, but they were already booked up,” Ms Grinter said.
“We might even have Santa come, we’ll just see what we can round up amongst our members.”
The committee has hosted Christmas parties in the past, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and they are always memorable, with Santa showing up in a pair of shorts as per Australian tradition.
But this year, Santa jokingly says he won’t come out without some hazard pay after a run-in with a feisty fox terrier a few years back.
“It was really funny because he came out and was ho-ho-ho-ing and carrying on, and this dog just popped out from under its owner’s legs and started growling at him. She had to restrain him or else Santa would have got a bite,” Ms Grinter said.
About 25km north of Shepparton, the hall is just off the Barmah-Shepparton Rd on Kaarimba Hall Rd. The hall and the fire shed are the only public buildings in the locality.
“We usually like to have three or four functions a year to keep the community connected, but because of COVID we haven’t been able to have anything,” Ms Grinter said.
