Power tools and a handbag were among items allegedly stolen from an elderly person’s house in North Shepparton on Saturday, February 19.

Shepparton police Detective Senior Constable Matthew Clowse said two people allegedly forced entry through the rear door of a house on Blaxland St about 4.45am.

He said the people allegedly stole personal items from the property, including power tools and a handbag, before leaving the property.

The elderly resident was asleep at the time of the alleged burglary.

Police arrested and charged a boy, 13, with aggravated burglary on Tuesday, February 22, Det Sen Constable Clowse said.

The boy was bailed to appear in a children’s court at a later date.

Det Sen Constable Clowse said investigations were continuing and that police were actively conducting extra patrols in North Shepparton.

However, he said it appeared to be an isolated incident.
