The ‘UniTurtle’: Five-year-old Elisha Fitzpatrick has won Melbourne’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s Create a Creature competition.

What’s better than a turtle and a unicorn? A combination of the two.

Tatura’s Elisha Fitzpatrick has been selected as the winner of Melbourne’s LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s Create a Creature competition.

The five-year-old’s drawing of the half-unicorn, half-turtle creature named “the UniTurtle” has been brought to life in the form of 15,500 pieces of LEGO, spanning a metre wide.

According to Elisha, the UniTurtle “spreads happiness wherever she goes”.

“If she uses her rainbow horn to tap on your door, then your house is suddenly filled with fun,” Elisha said.

“When she sees a bad guy, she hides her unicorn feature so that she just looks like a normal turtle.”

Along with her powers, the UniTurtle also carries her house on her back, so she can live wherever she wants.

“Inside her shell, she has three levels,” Elisha said.

“The top level is where she eats her dinner, which is vanilla ice cream.

“She has it for lunch and breakfast as well.”

With 100 hours spent designing and building the collaborative animal, master model builder Kieran Jiwa said he was “delighted to bring Elisha’s creation to life”.

“The story she told about her UniTurtle was magical, I just had to build it,” he said.

The giant UniTurtle was unveiled in a surprise viewing to Elisha and her family at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, and is now on display.
