The Breen Ave dual walking and cycling track seamlessly integrates with the town’s existing path network, offering residents a safe and convenient route for walking and cycling.
Since its 2024 completion, the path has woven itself into the fabric of local life, offering a secure route for schoolchildren and a joyful haven for dog walkers to bond with their four-legged companions.
Spanning 1.78km along Breen Ave, this crucial connector joins paths on Cooma Rd and Allan St, forging an uninterrupted journey from Kyabram’s vibrant heart to its picturesque fringes.
This project is the fruition of the Kyabram Walking and Cycling Strategy, a grassroots initiative born in 2004 to unite the town through a comprehensive network of pathways.
The project kicked off with new pathways on South Boundary Rd and Lake Rd, followed by upgrades to existing tracks, before finally extending east to connect with Breen Ave.
After 11 years of keen expectation, the Breen Ave section of the path network made its grand debut in September 2024 — perfectly timed for residents shaking off their winter slumber to revel in Kyabram’s glorious spring weather.
