CFA District 22 commander Brendan Morris said the fire burnt a rubbish pile containing mainly almond husks and general rubbish, as well as grass in nearby paddocks.
Firefighters had the main part of the fire out at 3pm.
At 5pm, machinery was still being used to pull apart the rubbish pile, with firefighters on scene to extinguish any rubbish that was still alight.
The fire burnt an area of 500 square metres.
At its height, 10 CFA tankers and a big fill appliance were used to fight the fire.
Mr Morris said CFA investigators were investigating the cause of the fire.
