With the loss of Nick O'Bryan and Ednie's brother Luke from the 2019 list, in addition to ex-AFL players Brendan Fevola and Ricky Dyson, who were expected to play last year's cancelled season, Ednie is expecting his team to drop a few rungs on the ladder.
“It's been a bit of a task getting blokes back into footy,” Ednie said.
“Hopefully a few more jump on board as the season gets closer.
“The list is not quite as strong as it was last year.
“I'd like to think we play finals and to be around the sixth to eighth position would be nice.
“If we bring the young kids along hopefully we will be up there again in three or four years competing for a flag.”
Despite the loss of players, it's not all doom and gloom, with the likes of Daniel Maher and Matt Prendergast, who they picked up last year, staying on board.
When asked to single out some players to look out for this season, Ednie pointed to his younger brigade, including Jack Kennedy, Paul McCallum and Tom Mason.
