There were more heavy grain-fed shorn lambs in this yarding, as well as a limited run of new season lambs which were very good in regard to finish and presentation.
More buyers were active, including an increase in domestic competition as new season lambs become available.
The total number presented came to 6403 head, making $1,399,333 for an average price of $218.68.
Heavy shorn lambs off grain sold to a top of $386/head, while a pen of outstanding new season lambs estimated around 28-29kg carcase weight (cwt) reached $362/head.
Prices for quality new season lambs trended over an estimated 1200c/kg cwt, with the lead pens showing hard carcase finish and weight selling above $300/head at $315 to a top of $362/head.
The next draft of young trade lambs with less finish sold from $269 to $300/head.
There were no lightweight young lambs in the limited run, with agents expecting the build-up in new season numbers to start in earnest next fortnight.
Price trends for fed shorn lambs trended either side of 1100c/kg cwt to match recent market results.
In dollars, export weight lambs made from $320 to $386/head and heavy lambs from 26-30kg cwt sold from $283 to $340/head.
The best heavy trade lambs made $258 to $310/head.
The best price for Dorpers in this yarding was $295, while a mixed line-up of Merino lambs sold to $212/head.
There was a cheaper trend for lighter lambs weighing under 20kg cwt, which were of mixed types and presentation.
The better framed and bred light lambs made from $140 to $190/head, and smaller and plainer light lambs from $86 to $135/head.
The sheep sale showed price gains compared to the last Deniliquin sale, but was in-line with more recent auction results at an estimated 700c to 800c/kg cwt for most grades of mutton.
Heavy crossbred, and meat ewes sold from $230 to $288/head, Dorper ewes made up to $250/head, while Merino ewes in a skin topped the section at $290/head.
Leaner trade mutton and light sheep ranged from $120 to $180 for most pens.
