GV Health Foundation aims to surpass last year’s impressive fundraising total of $133,000, with all proceeds continuing to support women in the Goulburn Valley facing cancer.
Since its inaugural event in 2023, Ladies Who Lunch has raised a remarkable $244,000 for GV Health’s oncology services.
A portion of which has been used to purchase life-enhancing equipment, including a SOZO machine for early lymphedema detection and a Paxman Scalp Cooling Machine, which helps reduce hair loss during chemotherapy.
GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp described Ladies Who Lunch as a “cornerstone of local cancer support”.
“The funds raised over the past two years have enabled real, tangible improvements in how we care for and support women with cancer in our region,” he said.
Yes, the financial contributions are making a significant impact.
However, there’s more to Ladies Who Lunch than just fundraising.
According to committee co-chair Amy DePaola, the lunch serves to unite the community, acknowledge the impact of cancer and celebrate the incredible resilience of local women undergoing treatment.
“It is about community, connection and creating hope,” she said.
“Every ticket sold, every dollar raised, has helped improve outcomes and experiences for women in our own backyard.”
Ladies Who Lunch will be held on Sunday, October 26, at Riverlinks Eastbank, 70 Welsford St, Shepparton.
Tickets go on sale Monday, September 1.
