After the draw on Saturday, July 12, officials from The Lott encouraged Echuca ticket purchasers to check their entries, as the winning ticket was unregistered.
Officials cannot contact winners with unregistered tickets.
One of Echuca’s own was the lucky ticket holder, and was delighted to see his numbers drawn.
“Wow, it’s hard to believe,” he said.
“It’s been so nerve-wracking carrying around this unregistered ticket, I’ll definitely be registering any tickets from now on.
“I somewhat did know about the win, but I had to come to the newsagency to confirm it all.”
The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, is looking forward to wiping his mortgage and supporting his adult children to own their first homes with the $919,034.33 prize money.
“I don’t think it will click until I’ve received the funds, to be honest,” he said.
“I’ll be paying off the mortgage for sure, then I’ll put some aside for the kids and their home deposits.
“I’m sure I’ll enjoy the rest but be very responsible with it ... it’s beautiful.
“I’ll have to rush to The Lott head office to claim now. This ticket won’t leave my sight.”
The recent win is the 36th division one-winning entry sold by the shop.

Echuca Lucky Lotto staff sold the winning entry, with manager Eric Davey decorating the shop in celebration.
This ticket is the 36th division one-winning entry the shop has sold.
“It’s fantastic,” Mr Davey said.
“The last time we sold a division one-winning entry was two years ago now, so we’re super excited to have sold another.
“This is now our 36th division one winning entry and we couldn’t be happier.
“We’ve been decorating the store with balloons and extra signage.”
Mr Davey also wished the best for the Echuca man, who is also the first division one winner from the Goulburn Valley in 2025.
“We hope our division one winner can enjoy their prize and get to experience their dreams come true,” he said.
“On behalf of Echuca Lucky Lotto team, congratulations and all the very best!”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4589 were 36, 9, 37, 35, 23 and 29, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 31.
Three division one-winning entries were purchased in each of Victoria and Western Australia, along with one in South Australia.
