The room, in the front eastern wing, has been developed and furnished over the last 12 to 18 months.
It provides a comfortable space for residents to spend time with their friends and family in their cherished final moments.
Auxiliary member Luisa Parker was a driving force behind the idea, with support of her fellow members.
She said it would not have been possible without the generous financial support of the Deni RSL.
“We are so proud to see the palliative care room now opened at Navorina,” she said.
“As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary - and as someone who has experienced the journey first hand, when my husband Rex was a resident and passed away 18 months ago - I understand how important it is for families, to have a calm, private space during such emotional times.
“While the staff at Navorina were incredibly caring and supportive, it became clear to me that a dedicated room for families to gather, reflect and be close to their loved ones would mean so much.
“This new room is a peaceful and comforting space, offering dignity and warmth to residents and their families when it matters most.
“With help from a generous grant from our local RSL Club, we were able to turn this vision into reality.
“It's a space built with love, care and a deep respect for residents of Navorina and their families, and the Ladies Auxiliary is proud to have made this meaningful addition a reality.”
Navorina CEO Melissa Bromley said the room is an important space and that it is an initiative Navorina is keen to continue to support.
