Sienna Finnis-Smith and Harry Bast have joined the ranks of boundary umpires.
Finnis-Smith joined her grandfather Warren Finnis at Longwood on April 12 for her first game, while Bast did his first game the following week at Nagambie with Finnis and Finnis-Smith.
Bast usually runs the boundary with his grandfather, Graeme Currie.
All four officiated together at Tallygaroopna on Saturday, May 5.
Finnis has umpired more than 300 games after more than 300 games as a player.
Currie has umpired 390 games after more than 350 games as a player.
Finnis and Currie agree it is a great way to keep fit, now with the added bonus of doing it with their grandchildren.
Both kids are happy earning a bit of money too for their efforts running the boundary.
Goulburn Valley Football Umpires Association is always looking for new and old umpires to join its ranks.
There are training bases at Benalla, Seymour and Shepparton.
If you are interested, you can contact regional director of umpiring Andrew Moore on 0427 349 912, or email andrew.moore@aflgm.com.au for further details.
