The first program consists of two interactive Community Emergency Scenario Sessions at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre.
The sessions will run on Wednesday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 30, from 5:30pm to 7pm, with dinner provided.
Participants aged 11 and over can attend, though those under-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
“These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for our community to build resilience and leadership at the grassroots level,” City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said.
“Red Flag Leadership’s programs help equip everyday people with the practical knowledge, relationships and confidence to support their neighbours in times of crisis.”
The second program, ‘Answering the Call’, is a four-day leadership course for participants aged 16 and over.
Sessions will be held at North Shepparton Community and Learning Centre on August 9 and 10 and August 23 and 24, with meals and snacks provided.
Participants who complete all sessions will receive a certificate and course cap.
Both programs aim to strengthen community emergency planning and foster collaboration between residents and emergency agencies including CFA, Parks Victoria, FFMVic and Victoria Police.
Registration for the scenario sessions is available at: trybooking.com/DBKER, while leadership course registrations can be made at trybooking.com/DCHSV.
