I wish to pay tribute to two extraordinary women from our region, the late Joan Jordan of Cobram and Anna Creighton, who have both been recognised in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours.

Mrs Jordan’s lifetime of service to the Cobram community is nothing short of remarkable. Her work with the Agricultural Society, Spinners and Weavers, and other local groups, has left a lasting legacy that will be remembered for generations.
Anna Creighton, too, has given so much to her community with a spirit of quiet dedication and compassion. Her recognition is thoroughly deserved.
To the family of Joan, and to Anna personally — thank you for sharing your time and talents with our community. We are all the better for it.
