Mr Aristovoulou is an emerging artist who works with pencil, ink and gouache on paper.
In his abstract style, he carefully segments the picture plane, creating broad linear strips that incorporate figurative and botanical elements.
His colours seamlessly blend together, lending a dream-like quality to the imagery he carefully constructs.
Mr Aristovoulou has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2011.
He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and presented his first solo Fervent Response as a virtual exhibition in 2020.
His work is held in private collections throughout Australia.
Dragonflies by Lisa Brand.
Mr Aristovoulou’s Lemon Myrtle is presented in partnership with Arts Project Australia, an internationally leading visual arts organisation that champions neurodivergent artists and artists with intellectual disability.
Through their studio program, exhibition opportunities and professional development pathways, Arts Project artists are empowered to develop their practice and build meaningful careers in the contemporary arts sector.
In Mosaiced Memories, artist Lisa Brand reflects on a transformative journey woven through fragments — of glass, of life and of self.
Before discovering mosaics, she wore many hats: restaurant owner, food bus owner and operator, admin supervisor, and naturopathic student.
Lisa is also a devoted mother of three and a proud grandmother.
Her creative path began over 20 years ago, experimenting with crafts from dried flower arrangements to handmade frames and paper tole.
Eventually, it was mosaicing that truly captivated her — an art form that became both sanctuary and revelation.
Emerging during a time of personal upheaval, mosaicing offered more than a distraction — it became a lifeline.
Over the past five years, Lisa has shared her work with the public, slowly learning to let go of the personal creations she once held close.
All works in the gallery shop are available to buy from Benalla Art Gallery, or by contacting the gallery on 5760 2619 or gallery@benalla.vic.gov.au.
