The enhancements of Enclosure 1 are part of a $1.716 million project, which endeavours to improve local sporting facilities and encourage greater community participation in events.
Works are being carried out to deliver a new concrete court base, LED competition lighting, improved fencing and access, and high-quality synthetic court surfacing.
The project also involves the demolition of disused courts, with the area to be returned to open green space.
Over the past month, the complex has seen the installation of fence posts, sub-grade preparation, proof rolling and compaction, drainage works, electrical conduit installation, and the pouring of light pole footings.
Next up is the pouring of the concrete base for the new courts.
The works have been jointly funded by the Victorian Government, through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund ($1 million), Mitchell Shire Council ($676,000), and the Seymour Tennis Club ($40,000).
The project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
