Reigning premier Waaia continues to show no signs of slowing down after securing back-to-back-to-back flags last year.
On Saturday, Waaia came from behind and cruised passed finals contender Deniliquin Rovers on the road.
The Rovers started the match red-hot and made it count on the scoreboard, leading 32-9 at quarter-time.
However, Waaia clawed, scrapped and fought its way into the contest to even the ledger in the second half.
With the game on the line at the final change of ends, the Bombers turned a seven-point margin into nearly a six-goal victory as Waaia’s class shone through late.
The final scores finished 9.6 (60) to 14.10 (94) in Waaia’s favour.
Gun Bombers forward Connor Brown booted four goals, while Callum Leighton-Daly received best-on-ground honours.
Katamatite secured a monster victory over Rennie, winning the match by 188 points.
Mitch Ward starred in attack, kicking 11 goals for the Tigers, while teammate Matt Ward contributed six of his own.
Katandra continued its unblemished start to 2025 after defeating Katunga by 68 points at home.
Kats swingman Corey Hickford finished with a game-high five goals.
Berrigan’s impressive season continued as the Saints went marching in against Picola United.
The match went down to the final few moments, but Berrigan escaped with a six-point win at home.
Around the rest of the grounds, Dookie United fell to Jerilderie by 32 points on the road, Tocumwal tore apart Mathoura in a 188-point thrashing (the Bloods’ Flynn Tonks booted 10 goals) and Tungamah belted Blighty by 70 points.
In the A-grade netball, Katandra delt Katunga a 24-goal loss, Deniliquin Rovers smashed Waaia 51-12, Katamatite dominated Rennie by 55, Tocumwal beat Mathoura by 37, Tungamah smoked Blighty 63-22, Dookie United pocketed a 35-goal victory over Jerilderie and Picola United escaped with a one-goal win over Berrigan.
