Children are eligible to attend kindergarten in 2026 if they turn three or four before April 30, 2026.
Registrations can be made at any time of year, however registering for a first-round offer between May 1 and June 30 provides the best chance of securing a spot at your preferred kindergarten.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell encouraged families to give their child the best start to learning by registering at a kindergarten that suits their needs.
“Many kindergartens will run open days throughout May, which is a great opportunity to learn about the programs available for your child in making such an important decision for their development.’’
Victorian children can complete up to two years of funded kindergarten.
Children born between January 1 and April 30 can start three-year-old kindergarten the year they turn three or four, allowing families to decide how old their child will turn in their first year of school.

Families are encouraged to register their child online via council’s website.

Places are allocated to children by applying state government and local priority-of-access criteria, rather than by date of application.
In July, offers will be emailed to advise if your child has received a place at your preferred service or is on a waiting list. Responses are required within seven days of your offer.
Registrations for Berrimba Childcare, Echuca, Brigid’s Light Early Learning Centre Echuca, Colbinabbin Preschool, Rushworth Kindergarten and Childcare Centre, Shine Bright Echuca Anstruther St Kindergarten, Shine Bright Echuca East Kindergarten, Shine Bright Echuca Central Kindergarten, Shine Bright Echuca South Community Kindergarten, Shine Bright Girgarre Kindergarten, Shine Bright Gunbower Kindergarten, Shine Bright Fenaughty Street Kindergarten, Kyabram, Shine Bright Kyabram P-12 Kindergarten, Shine Bright Unwin Street Kyabram, Shine Bright Lockington Kindergarten, Shine Bright Rochester Kindergarten, Shine Bright Stanhope Kindergarten and Shine Bright Tongala Kindergarten are managed by council.
