A minute's silence was held at each game at the Brauman St courts for legendary association figure Val Barrass, who died on March 16.

The 13-and-under competition had Mooroopna Violet play Bourchier Eagles in the opening match of the season, with the Cats clawing down their opposition 28-11.

Echuca defeated Shepparton United Blue 54-11, Kyabram Diamonds beat Saints Opals by 26 and Euroa Three ran over the top of Shepparton Swans Red to the tune of 19 goals.
