On Friday, April 11, a diverse group of 17 volunteers, ranging from adults to toddlers, spent three hours breathing new life into the garden.
Development committee member Renee Pichler said librarian Natalie Stephenson, who works next door in the library, had mentioned the garden had needed a bit of TLC and had the idea to open the help up to the community.
The space is used by many community groups in Kyabram such as the KCLC day care service, the local Joey Scouts, play groups, local parents and grandparents.

“I thought it was a great opportunity for the community to get involved,” Mrs Pichler said.
“I was really impressed with the range of people that got involved: we had early years educators, we had parents of kids who use the garden, and a teacher.”
Mrs Pichler said the 17 volunteers tackled various tasks, including thorough weeding, careful lawn mowing and strategic pruning of overgrown plants to restore the garden's beauty.
“From the Ky Development Group, were always looking to inspire ownership and encourage people to take pride in their town and what it has to offer,” she said.
She said she hoped this first event inspired more people to get on board with the community garden, plant some vegetables and revitalise such a great community asset.
