Parker to make AFL return against 'Roos after late swap

Sydney veteran Luke Parker will play his first AFL game of the season, coming in as a late change for their North Melbourne clash.

With superstar Isaac Heeney ruled out with a one-week ban for suspension, Parker will replace Sam Wicks as a substitute for the Swans' Saturday match at the SCG.

Parker was named as an emergency earlier in the week after serving a six-game VFL suspension.

It will be his first game at AFL level this year.

The 31-year-old starred in the VFL before a heavy bump against Frankston's Josh Smith in his fourth game back from a broken arm resulted in a ban.

Sydney captain Callum Mills will also make his long-awaited return to the senior level after a shoulder and calf injury.

The hard-running midfielder was sidelined for eight months after damaging the rotator cuff in his left shoulder while wrestling with a teammate at a post-season event in September.
