Aussie Vidosic to take charge of Brighton's WSL team

Vidosic departs after leading City to the ALW premiership and a grand final in his first full season at the helm, plus securing qualification for the Women's Asian Champions League.

A former City player, Vidosic originally worked as an ALW assistant under his father Rado, then took on the team full-time midway through the 2022-23 season.

He prided himself on an attractive, possession-based style of football throughout his tenure.

"It's a bittersweet moment for me to embark on this exciting new challenge after the incredible two seasons I've shared with this team," Vidosic said.

"Winning the premiers' plate this season and qualifying for the inaugural AFC Women's Champions League is something I will never forget.

"I leave behind a really special group of players and staff that I'm confident will continue to achieve great things."

Vidosic will coach Matildas prospect and defender Charlie Rule at Brighton, who finished ninth last season, while coming up against stars like Sam Kerr (Chelsea), Caitlin Foord (Arsenal) and Mary Fowler (Manchester City).

City hailed Vidosic's work at the club and have commenced their search for his replacement.
