The Redbacks have won three matches on the trot since round 10, with Saturday's victory spearheaded by a superb batting performance from Kyle Mueller.
The skipper crunched a dazzling 92 in his side's emphatic six-wicket victory against the sixth-placed Lakers, as Kyabram finished the round 13 clash 8-245 from 80 overs.
Saturday's clinical outing has left Kyabram with a home ground advantage when the first week of finals start this weekend.
With the threat of potentially missing out on finals, Nagambie had 158 on the board to defend when day two resumed at Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
A positive result looked likely for the Lakers early on in the piece, when Brayden Biggs dismissed Paul Parsons for six.
Mark Nolan then chimed in with the wicket of No. 3 bat Kyle Fitzgerald (six) and in-form opener Billy McLay (32).
The Redbacks reached 3-59, but had two damaging batsmen at the crease, with Mueller and the reliable Paul Newman at the beginning of their innings.
The pair combined for a 49-run partnership, after Newman departed for 28 runs with four boundaries to his name.
Newman's departure brought Mueller's brother Cade (12 runs) to the middle and the duo piled on a sublime 56 runs together.
Kyle did most of the heavy hitting, with the talented batsman smashing 12 boundaries and one huge six, as the brothers chased down Nagambie's total of 158 with ease.
Tail-order batsman Lukas Hanslow (27 runs) chipped in with five boundaries as he enjoyed time out in the middle.
With finals just around the corner, the Redbacks made sure they fine-tuned their batting for their upcoming clash against Katandra and faced out their entire 80 overs.
Meanwhile for Nagambie, it will front up this weekend against ladder leader Numurkah at Numurkah Showgrounds.

Kyle Mueller (Kyabram): The Redbacks skipper was at his damaging best as he fell eight runs short of a second century this summer. With Mueller in solid touch on the eve of finals, it is no doubt set to leave opposition clubs with plenty of headaches in the coming weeks.
