Gallery | Locals have a ball at Shepparton Golf Club’s Charity Day for Rotary Club of Central Shepparton
Eighteen holes of golf washed down with a few coldies before listening to warts-and-all tales from an AFL Hall of Famer — not a bad way to spend a Friday.
That was the reality for many on February 23 as players converged on Shepparton Golf Club for its annual charity day in support of Rotary Club of Central Shepparton.
The event had its biggest field, with 136 golfers forming 34 teams competing under the warm summer sun.
And though he didn’t swing a club, Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton swung by to captivate guests with hair-raising yarns from his playing days.
News photographer Rechelle Zammit was in attendance to snap the happy golfers after the day’s play.
