Deniliquin’s Murray to Moyne cycle team is back at it, fundraising for the Deniliquin Hospital.
The group will host its now annual family night at the Deniliquin Boat Club this Friday.
“We’ll have a silent auction - a goods and services auction - and music from local musicians,” team member Matt Tubb said.
“There will also be a food truck and bar, and it all begins about 6pm.
“It is free to attend the night, but we ask people to dig deep and support the activities and help us raise vital funds for the Deniliquin Hospital.”
This year is the 37th annual Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay, with Deniliquin submitting a team of riders for 34 of those rides.
Mr Tubb said the aim of the local riders is to raise as much money for equipment required at Deniliquin Hospital for patient care and comfort not covered by government grants.
“Last year we raised more than $10,000, and paired with accumulated funds we were able to purchase a $27,000 Ook Snow All Bariatric Hospital Bed for the palliative care unit.
“The items we have purchased over the years have been nominated by staff, and added to a wish list, and they are items outside the scope of government.
“All items purchased are for the Deniliquin Hospital specifically.”
The 2023 Murray to Moyne cycle relay will be held April 6 and 7 and will cover approximately 537km from Echuca to Port Fairy.
