Thunder win toss, bat first against Sixers

Kurtis Patterson has been recalled to the Sydney Sixers' side, with the Magenta losing the toss and being made to bowl first by the Sydney Thunder at Spotless Stadium.

Dropped from the NSW Sheffield Shield side this year, the former Test batsman had not been picked for the Sixers so far this season.

But he has been selected to play his first BBL game since last season, with the Sixers losing Daniel Hughes to illness.

Todd Murphy is also back in the Sixers' side, in place of fellow spinner Steve O'Keefe.

The Thunder have brought in Englishman Tom Kohler-Cadmore to bat at No.3, replacing Jason Sangha.

Pakistan quick Zaman Khan has also returned home, and has been replaced by local Liam Hatcher.

The Thunder desperately need a win against the third-placed Sixers, with the hosts sitting on one win from four games.
