Benalla’s Let Us Entertain You Theatre Group is hosting an information afternoon on its upcoming production, The Importance of Being Earnest, this month.
The event, held at the CWA Hall in Benalla from 4pm on Sunday, December 10, is an opportunity to learn more about the Oscar Wilde play.
LUEY Secretary Anna Smith said if you had ever wanted to ‘tread the boards’ on stage, or be part of a theatre team behind the scenes in various roles, this event is for you.
“This clever, witty, hilarious play transcends time even though the script was written a century ago,” Ms Smith said.
“The play tells the story of two men who both assume the identity of a fictional man named Ernest, leading them both to fall in love with two women and find an assortment of problems along the way.”
There are roles available for five men and four women, and LUEY will advise how the audition process will work at the event.
The group plans to perform the show in April 2024 at the Benalla Town Hall.
