Tucked away in a little corner is the Coffee Corner, a small room filled with comfy chairs to sit at and catch up.
Coffee and tea are provided, and it is the perfect space in the middle of Tatura for groups to catch up, have a chat and enjoy this cozy corner.
Generations Op Shop manager Jacqui Hall said the room was originally designed for people who needed a safe space.
Jacqui has since redesigned the space and given it a makeover, turning it into the go-to spot for people to hang out.
“We want to be able to provide a space where groups can meet and have a nice, friendly environment,” she said.
“We wanted to create a nice, relaxed environment for people to use.”
The space is free to use and can be used for one-offs or even weekly or fortnightly meetings for community groups.
Currently, the op shop sees one group which uses the space.
Girls on a Mission uses the Coffee Corner as one of its meet-up spots and finds the space the perfect place to catch up and do some knitting.
“It’s set out like a lounge room as we want people to feel at home and comfortable,” Jacqui said.
“Our heart is to display the love of God to people, and we want people to experience that when they come here as well. To feel at home and safe and that they belong in this community.”
If you’d like to use the Coffee Corner, phone Generations Op Shop on 5824 3059 and speak to Jacqui to see what options are available for you.
All groups are welcome to use this safe space.
