My name is Neha, and I have seen you every day for more years than I can count. Every school day, on my way to work, you greeted me at Archer St with a wave and a genuine smile. Many times, I contemplated stopping by to say hello in person, but the rush of work and the sight of you selflessly helping children always held me back.
Recently, something felt amiss. It was as though I was taking the wrong path to work. It wasn’t until I spotted some schoolchildren at Archer St that I realised what was missing— your kind smile and friendly wave. It’s almost like you were unconsciously a part of my morning routine, and I wish I thanked you sooner for your kindness.
I called Wilmot Rd Primary School to inquire about your wellbeing, and they advised me to contact the council to reach out to you. I found out that the crossing at Archer St was no longer in use. I wish I knew your name, but I hope this letter reaches you.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for always being so warm and welcoming. Rain or shine, you stood there at that crossing, ensuring the safety of young ones and brightening the day of passing cars with a simple wave.
You are a remarkable person, ma’am. Thank you for radiating joy and generously sharing your smile with me every morning for all these years.
