A strong start and an even stronger finish capped off an outstanding Heathcote District League under-13 netball season for LBU on Saturday — the ladder-leading team earning a premiership against Leitchville Gunbower.

Ivy Giorgianni and league best and fairest winner Taya Tamblyn remained unchanged in goals for the duration of the game, LBU leading by six at quarter-time and building on that lead throughout.
Eventually LBU won the game 39-22, finishing with a 13-7 final term to claim the victory.
Keeley Major played three quarters at centre, setting up the win and Lily Dunham was the one constant in the defensive goaling circle.
She worked with Eden Christian and Keira Mitchell to restrict the opposition’s scoring opportunities.

Close call: Colbinabbin’s under -17 netball team lost its grand final by just two points to Mount Pleasant, 49-51.
