Sixty-six teams were grouped in 11 divisions of six, with each playing the other five in their division in the preliminary rounds over 12 ends.
The winner of each group then progressed to the finals on Sunday afternoon, with the matches then played over six ends.
John O’Donnell and Travis Kelly got over the line in the first semi final when they defeated Peter and Gary Brain, eight shots to seven.
The Brain brothers from Castlemaine were runners-up in this tournament last year.
Kevin Brennan and Glen Dorward cruised to victory in the other semi final when they accounted for Cam Bell and Mick Symonds by eight shots.
The final was a very close affair with the Brennan/Dorward combination just prevailing against O’Donnell and Kelly, four shots to three.
It was a very successful weekend, and the club is indebted to all those players who support these tournaments each year.
Attention is now turned to the weekend of August 26 and 27, when the annual Premier Fours tournament will take place.
Tournament director Mark Law has already received 20 entries.
It promises to be another bumper weekend for the Deniliquin Bowling Club.
